Union Election Commission Directive No 2/2010

Enlisting the Strength of Political Parties

Section 5: Political parties that want to assemble and give speeches at designated [public] places shall apply to the election commission in the area one week in advance.

Section 6: Political parties that want to assemble and give speeches in their party offices shall report to the election commission in the area one week in advance without necessity to apply for permission. 

Section 9 (c): Prohibitions of holding flags and chanting slogans marching to and from an assembly venue will be stipulated in the permit.

Section 9 (e): The EC shall issue the permission or rejection of the political gathering at least 48 hours before the scheduled time.

Section 13: If political parties fail to comply with any prohibitions in this directive, action will be taken against them in accord with both the existing laws and the Political Parties Registration Law.
