2008 Constitution
Article 26/a: Civil Services personnel shall be free from party politics.
Article 121: The following persons shall not be entitled to be elected as the Pyithu Hluttaw
representatives:
(j) Civil Services personnel
Proviso: The expression shall not be applied to Civil Services personnel including the Defense Services personnel selected and appointed in the Hluttaws and organizations formed under the Constitution.

Article 4: The people who want to found a party must conform with the following:
(d)Not being Civil Services personnel
